Using Circate
By using Circate, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Circate. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Use a strong password and don't share your login. You're responsible for all activity under your account.
One account per person. Don't create multiple accounts to manipulate games or promotions.
Your content
You retain full ownership of everything you create and publish on Circate. We don't claim any rights to your writing or audio.
By publishing content, you grant Circate a license to display it on the platform — that's it. We won't use your work for anything else without your permission.
Content expiration and deletion
Circate is designed around fresh, rotating content. This means:
- When you publish a new Weekly, your previous Weekly and its files are deleted
- Audio files are deleted when their associated content is removed
- Game submissions may be deleted when a game is closed or after extended inactivity
- Community Weekly content resets every Tuesday
Circate is not an archive. If you want to keep copies of your work, save them locally before they expire.
Original work only
Everything you submit must be:
- Original work created by you
- Work you have the rights to publish
- Not copied from others without permission
Don't submit AI-generated content, plagiarized work, or content you don't have rights to. We may remove content that violates this policy.
No self-promotion
Circate is built on a simple rule: you can only promote others, never yourself.
In Games, you vote for another player's work. In Weeklies, you promote other curators' content to the Community Weekly. This isn't a loophole to close — it's the core design.
Don't create multiple accounts or coordinate with others to artificially boost your own work.
No royalties or payments between users
Circate does not facilitate payments between users. We don't pay royalties for content, and users don't pay each other for promotions or votes.
The only payment on Circate is the optional $15/month Curator subscription, paid to Circate for access to Curator features.
Curator subscriptions
Curator accounts cost $15 per month, billed monthly through Stripe.
- Cancel anytime from your account settings
- When you cancel, you keep access until the end of your billing period
- No refunds for partial months
- If you downgrade, you lose your public profile URL (/~/yourname) and it may be claimed by someone else
Prohibited content
Don't post content that:
- Is illegal or promotes illegal activity
- Infringes on others' intellectual property
- Is harassing, abusive, or threatening
- Contains hate speech or discrimination
- Is sexually explicit or pornographic
- Contains malware or spam
- Impersonates others
Our rights
We reserve the right to:
- Remove content that violates these terms
- Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

Circate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific needs.
We're not responsible for content posted by users. We don't endorse user content or verify its accuracy.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, Circate's liability for any claims related to these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $200, whichever is greater.
We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
